When asked whether I agree or not with Brandts claim that race and class impacts your literacy sponsor, I would agree. Being in a family that gifted you a computer and that is financially gives you a huge jump ahead, rather than having to work for it all.
Im more of a Branch. I live in a stable house hold with two parents with well paying jobs, My parents have payed for my computer among other things. My main literacy sponsors are probably both my parents, Harrison High school, Apple devices, and Video games. Harrison High school is probably my biggest literacy sponsor since they showed me the argumentative, academic, and creative writing.
I felt that I was also more in Brandt’s position for access to literacy sponsorship! Although my parents were not able to buy me a computer growing up, they always made sure that I somehow had access to technology and other tools to help like at the public library. My parents were definitely my biggest sponsors.
